Bavella, Solenzara and Porto Vecchio
Bavella is a mecca of Corsican mountains
And for good reason : at the same time massive, col and forest, it sums up in himself the peculiarities of the relief of the island, namely forms perpetually delusional and colors that range from red light to gray the more dark, dusted vast forests of pine trees.
The most beautiful panoramas, particularly on the aiguilles de Bavella, are to be seen at the pass of the same name (1218m. above sea level), in the regional park.
It is also the starting point for many hikes for all levels.
From the eastern side, two routes allow dy access : the D368 from Porto Vecchio and Zonza, and further north, the D268 from Solenzara.
It is this last, very winding, and often narrow, it need to borrow to be aware of the variety of landscapes, from the river of Solenzara and its natural pools to huge rock walls at the approach to the col.
